Parton Buys Station: Dolly Parton is buying the first radio station she ever sang on--WSEV/AM-FM, her hometown station in Sevierville, Tenn. “We plan to move the station to Dollywood (in nearby Pigeon Forge) and make it an attraction at the theme park,” Parton said, adding that the official transaction is pending approval of the Federal Communications Commission. Parton recorded her first songs--”Puppy Love” and “Girl Left Alone”--on a single microphone at WSEV when she was 9 years old. Now she plans to display the original microphone, and other equipment she used to tape those first songs, at the station. Dollywood guests will also be able to see the modern station in operation.
