HOT ART: Art thievery may be on the rise (A1), but police in Orange County say no big art thefts have occurred here since 1985, when 18 Salvador Dali paintings, valued at $600,000, were stolen. . . . Putting a price tag on the value of art in the county is extremely difficult, said George Williamson of the Martin Lawrence Gallery in Newport Beach, because collections of high value are “private and found inside homes.”
