First Interstate to Sell Insurance: First Interstate Bancorp. said it has secured licenses for 23 of its branch workers in 12 California offices to sell insurance annuities, as allowed under Proposition 103. The bank also plans to license agents in 65 more branches before year-end. The insurance will be underwritten by Western National Life Insurance and AIG Life.
