Hunter to Wrestle at Notre Dame

Westlake High senior Billy Hunter signed a letter of intent Monday to wrestle at Notre Dame in the fall.
Hunter, who finished third in the 175-pound weight division at the state championships in March, also considered William & Mary and Penn. Hunter was second in the state as a junior and had a career record of 130-18.
“Their program is really coming on strong and the coaching staff is excellent,” Hunter said of Notre Dame.
Hunter, considered one of California’s top three prospects by Amateur Wrestling News and recruited nationwide, said he will wrestle at 165 pounds for the Irish.
