IRVING, Tex. — Heavy overnight rain caused postponement of the first round of the $1-million Byron Nelson Golf Classic today.
The round was rescheduled for Friday and the second round put off until Saturday.
After the completion of 36 holes of play, the 156-man field will be reduced to the low 70 scorers for a double round of 36 holes on Sunday.
Portions of the TPC at Las Colinas were flooded by a second day of rains in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. The total rainfall for two days at the golf course was about eight inches.
The rains caused widespread flooding in North Texas.
