Wyman Robb, whose tenure as manager of Mobil Oil’s Torrance refinery was marked by conflict with city officials over safety at the facility, is leaving to take a job at Mobil headquarters in Fairfax, Va.
Robb, who has been manager at the refinery since 1987, will be promoted to general manager of U.S. planning for Mobil’s domestic marketing and refining division, the company announced Monday. He will be succeeded by Joel H. Maness, general manager of planning and financial analysis for the firm’s U.S. marketing department. Both appointments are effective June 1.
