George Allen, in his first year as football coach at Cal State Long Beach, has canceled the team’s spring game, scheduled for Saturday.

“It’s the logical thing to do. . . . We’re too short in personnel,” Allen said. “Not because of injuries, though. We just don’t have enough players yet.”
