CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : YUBA CITY : Premature Twins Leave the Hospital

Twin girls--born prematurely and 10 days apart--are home with their parents, schoolteachers Karen and Chris Yonge. The infants spent nearly three months in the hospital. Brittany was born Feb. 7 at Sutter Hospital in Sacramento; her fraternal twin, Kourtney, followed on Feb. 17. Their physican, Dr. Hanns Haesslein, described the delayed births of twins as “rare.” In fact, according to medical authorities, only 14 such cases have been reported nationally.
