WHITTIER — The winning pictures selected from among 62,000 entries in this year’s annual Mom & Me Children’s Art Festival will be on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today in the Pageant of Roses Garden at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
Children in kindergarten through sixth grade from 22 school districts participated by drawing or painting pictures in their classrooms about what Mother’s Day means to them. The most outstanding pictures were selected from the classrooms for display at the cemetery.
A ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. today for 21 community winners. Trophies will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place winners in each grade; their schools will receive cash awards totaling $10,500.
The Pageant of Roses Garden is located inside Gate 1 at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 3900 S. Workman Mill Road, near Whittier.
