Chrysler Expected to Build Viper Sports Car: Chrysler Chairman Lee A. Iacocca is expected to announce in Los Angeles Friday that the automaker will build the Viper, a high-powered, two-seat roadster first shown last year as a concept car. Iacocca ends a six-city tour here one day after the No. 3 carmaker holds its annual shareholder’s meeting in Universal City Thursday. While a Chrysler spokesman declined to confirm that a Viper announcement is imminent, he said the automaker is “coming real close” to making a final decision about the car. The Viper would be powered by a V8 or V10 engine and cost $30,000 to $40,000.
