Sports executive Michael Blatt’s scheme to have a business enemy killed by two former University of Pacific football players came undone when two women stumbled onto the crossbow slaying, the prosecutor said in opening arguments of Blatt’s trial at Oakland.
Blatt, a real estate developer and sports agent who was acting general manager of the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks for one month, is accused of murder, conspiracy and murder for financial gain in the death of Laurence J. Carnegie.
