San Franciscan Nights--and Days: Festival 2000, a multicultural festival of performing and visual arts in the parks and clubs of San Francisco, will take place Oct. 6-28. Over 200 performances, 1,000 artists and 50 events, including a “cutting edge” display of African-American, Asian, Hispanic and Native American talent, will be presented. The festival will open at the War Memorial Opera House with “Sole Night: A Celebration of Foot, Hand and Drum,” with dancer and choreographer Katherine Dunham, the American Indian Dance Theater, the Mantu Theater of Chicago and the New York-based Urban Bush Women.
