Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky is in Romania this week as a member of the official U.S. observer team monitoring Sunday’s election, his office said.
Yaroslavsky left for Bucharest on Wednesday and is scheduled to return to Los Angeles on May 23.
“It is a singular honor to be invited to observe this historic development in Eastern Europe,” Yaroslavsky said.
He was invited to join the team by the National Democratic Institute, an agency funded by the U.S. Congress for the purpose of promoting democracy.
