GOING PLACES : Victorian Field Trip
THE DISCOVERY MUSEUM, located in a restored Victorian house, is a hands-on laboratory of turn-of-the-century living. Kids churn cream into butter and try on reproduction costumes of the period. It’s a popular place for school groups and scout troops during the week, but you don’t have to be a den mother or a teacher to get in on the activity. The museum now hosts weekend guided historical tours for adults that focus on the lives and times of the house’s former inhabitants, the Hiram Clay Kellogg family. You may even get to do some churning.
Discovery Museum, 3101 W. Harvard St., Santa Ana; (714) 540-0404.
