Pasadena : Art Grants Awarded

The Board of Directors voted Tuesday to hand out $146,580 in grants to local artists and arts institutions. Recipients included the Pasadena Playhouse, the Southwest Chamber Music Society, the Foothill Master Chorale and nine artists.
The largest of the 24 grants went to the Pasadena Playhouse, which received $35,100 for its planned production of “The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit.”
Kidspace, a museum for children, was awarded $15,394 for a pilot program to provide art education to third-grade students in the Pasadena public schools.
The Southwest Chamber Music Society received $7,500 to help fund its 1990-91 concert series.
