Nine OC Players Named to Baseball All-Star Team

Nine Orange County prep baseball players have been selected to play for the South team that will participate in the California State all-star game scheduled at 7:30 tonight in San Jose Municipal Stadium.
The county players are shortstop Lionel Hastings and outfielder Jim Betzsold of Mater Dei, pitchers Kent Donnelly (Foothill) and Kevin Lovingier (Laguna Hills), catcher Lance Marks (Dana Hills), first baseman Dan Redington (Esperanza), infielders Chris Larson (Westminster) and Marco Perez (Santiago) and outfielder James Eidam (Edison).
Bob Zamora of Capistrano Valley will help coach the team, along with Rick Kashada (Poway) and Tom Bergeron (Gahr).
The three-game series continues Saturday night and concludes Sunday afternoon.
