Enterprising Troubles

The Enterprise crew lays off the lectures and comes down to Earth in one of “Star Trek’s” more memorable episodes, “The Trouble With Tribbles” (Saturday at 10 p.m. on KCOP).
Instead of the usual lofty messages, we’re bombarded with tribbles-those cuddly llttle creatures that do nothing but eat and reproduce-snarling Klingons, Vulcan put-downs and even a barroom brawl.
Less whimsical but more interesting is “Mirror, Mirror” (Wednesday at midnight on KCOP), which was nominated for science-fiction’s Hugo Award. Some of the crew is sucked into a parallel universe where life is cheaper and the clothing is skimpier. It’s fun-until Capt. Kirk starts with the speeches.
Other “Star Trek” classics airing this week are “The Deadly Years” (Thursday at midnight), in which a disease makes Kirk and the others get old before their time, and “The Changeling” (Monday at midnight), which pits Kirk against an intolerant computer.
