OJAI : Old Church Can Become Gallery
Ojai’s oldest church won the city’s blessing to become an art gallery as the Planning Commission voted 5 to 0 last week to waive parking requirements for a gallery that art dealers David Marr and Delores Youtz want to open in the 107-year-old former Nazarene church at 213 N. Montgomery St.
Marr and Youtz said they do not expect much traffic at the gallery because they do most of their business at trade shows.
The commissioners also unanimously opposed an offer by two home builders to trade a public swimming pool for permission to build three homes.
