Justice Dept. Probes USAir Group: The Justice Department said it is investigating the parent of the seventh-largest U.S. airline for possible antitrust violations at its Pittsburgh hub. “The investigation concerns agreements that may inhibit the ability of new entrants into the Pittsburgh area,” a department spokesman said. Arlington, Va.-based USAir confirmed the investigation in Pittsburgh, where USAir is the dominant airline, but an airline spokesman said the Justice Department informed USAir that it is not the only carrier under investigation. The Justice Department wouldn’t say whether it is investigating other carriers or airports.
