Outfielder Deion Sanders of the New York Yankees, one for his last 27, said he won’t report to the minors if the Yankees send him down.
Sanders, batting .122, said if the Yankees send him to Columbus of the International League, he will finish the baseball season in the Atlanta Falcons’ training camp, which opens July 27.
If Sanders stays with the Yankees past that date, he will be docked by the Falcons on a per-diem basis.
Leaving the Yankees would cost Sanders his salary for the days he missed, Sanders’ baseball agent, Barry Axelrod, said.
