A federal grand jury in Baltimore indicted the former director of the Food and Drug Administration’s generic drug division on two counts of perjury. Marvin Seife, 66, who retired from the FDA at the end of 1989 after 17 years on the job, is accused of lying to government investigators about his contacts with drug manufacturers. The charges are the latest in a 2-year-old investigation of the FDA and generic drug industry.
