Merger Canceled: Nichols Institute, the medical laboratory firm in San Juan Capistrano that is bent on expanding through acquisitions, has retreated from a previously announced merger with Pittsburgh-based Med-Chek Laboratories.
Nichols said the companies were “not able to establish mutually satisfactory contractual arrangements for the merger” but that Nichols will continue to supply services and products to Med-Check, which operates a clinical reference laboratory in Pittsburgh and serves customers in the Northeast.
