2 Caltech Sophomores Get Goldwater Awards

William Neilsen Brandt and Daniel Flees, sophomore physics majors at Caltech, have been selected as recipients of Barry M. Goldwater Merit Scholarships.

Each will receive a scholarship covering the cost of a year’s room and board and tuition up to $7,000.

The program was established by Congress to foster and encourage excellence in mathematics and the natural sciences by honoring students of outstanding potential.
