Former U.S. Olympians Vicki Bullett, Cynthia Cooper, Teresa Edwards, Katrina McClain and Lynette Woodard headed the list of 12 players named to the 1990 U.S. women’s national basketball team.
Woodard played collegiately at Kansas, and Edwards played at Georgia. Bullett went to Maryland; Cooper attended Cal State Long Beach; and McClain was a teammate of Edwards at Georgia.
The others players selected and the school were: teammates Jennifer Azzi and Sonja Henning of Stanford; Medina Dixon, Old Dominion; Vicki Hall, Texas; Beth Hunt, South Carolina; and Carolyn Jones and Vickie Orr, Auburn.
Lisa Leslie of Morningside High did not make the final cut.
The squad play in the World Championships July 9-22 in Malaysia.
