SHOOTING / U.S. CHAMPIONSHIPS : Buljung, Petracek Win Pistol Titles

Erich Buljung of Columbus, Ga., took the men’s free pistol championship and Connie Petracek of Nashville, Tenn., won the women’s air pistol title Wednesday in the U.S. International Shooting Championships at Chino.
Buljung, a silver medalist in the 1988 Olympics, led throughout the two-day competition, finishing with 1,219 points. Don Hamilton of Kingston, Maine, (1,200) was second, and Ben Amonette of Radford, Va., (1,198) third.
Petracek, third after the first day, scored 847.7 points. Kit Gage of Colorado Springs, Colo., (846.7) was second; Libby Callahan of Upper Marlboro, Md., (845.8) third and Carol Baker of Brea (843.7) fourth.
