Literary Agencies in Merger Talks: Leading Artists Agency and Bauer-Benedek Agency, both in Hollywood, are in preliminary merger discussions, according to sources. Bauer-Benedek also recently discussed merging with another talent agency, Intertalent, but negotiations collapsed several weeks ago. A combined Leading Artists/Bauer-Benedek firm would have more than 20 agents in the television and motion picture literary field. Bauer-Benedek principal Marty Bauer confirmed that discussions are taking place, but said a deal “is far from complete.”
