Serious About Schools
Years ago, when my children were in Valley public schools, they were talking about air-conditioning the schools, especially the need during the summer sessions.
Here it is 25 years later, and with year-around classes coming we still need air-conditioning in many schools. The school board is short of money, cutting back while the dropout rate is increasing. The under-educated and soon unemployable group, which will be a burden on themselves and the rest of us in terms of crime and welfare, is growing.
I think it is time for a revolt. We must fund education to the fullest, for the sake of our children and the future of our country.
