Lockheed Unit Gets Job: A unit of Lockheed Corp. has won an Air Force contract that could total as much as $300 million for work at Vandenberg Air Force Base. The contract involves work at Space Launch Complex Six, which was designated as the West Coast launch site for the space shuttle before to the Challenger disaster in 1986. Lockheed Space Operations Co. will initially maintain the site and conduct design studies. The site slated to become a Titan IV-Centaur rocket-launch complex.
