Four-Run Outburst in Sixth Inning Lifts Woodland Hills West to Win

Woodland Hills West scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat Chatsworth, 7-5, in an American Legion District 20 game at El Camino Real High on Friday.
With two out and none on in the sixth, Gregg Sheren, Chris Teich and Corey Bromberg walked. Paul Geller, who had three hits, singled in two runs and Evan Howland followed with a walk to reload the bases.
Del Marine then doubled to score two more runs as West won for the 10th consecutive time in district play. West improved to 17-5, 13-4 in district games.
With the bases loaded and one out in the top of the seventh, Geller relieved starter Sean Boldt (3-1) and retired Mitch Root on a double-play grounder to shortstop to end the game.
Rodney Bloom had two hits for Chatsworth.
