A junior college football player, Kyron Vandell, was killed and three other people were wounded in a shooting outside a South Sacramento restaurant.
Vandell, 21, a Sacramento City College student transfer headed for Washington State, died at 6:14 a.m., about four hours after he was shot in the head.
Witnesses said the shooting stemmed from an argument between Vandell and the gunman a few weeks earlier at the restaurant bar.
In his two years at Sacramento City College, the 5-foot-10, 190-pound running back had 420 carries for 2,006 yards and 33 touchdowns.
