Whitlock Scores 32; Loara Loses to Poly, 70-63

ANAHEIM — Defending champion Long Beach Poly High School defeated Loara, 70-63, in the opening round of the Servite summer basketball tournament Thursday, despite 32 points by Loara’s Tes Whitlock.
Whitlock scored three three-point baskets in the second quarter and the score was tied, 27-27, at halftime.
Whitlock also had seven rebounds, three steals and three assists, but he missed three dunks. Whitlock played despite having just arrived from the Nike Basketball Camp in New Jersey.
