Bell Atlantic Corp.: Profit for the second quarter rose to $362.8 million, up 6.2% from the same period in 1989. Total revenue was $3.08 billion, an increase of 6.7% from the previous year. The Philadelphia-based communications company said revenue reflected continued growth in volume in telephone and non-telephone businesses and “resiliency of our regional services-based economy.”
