Ex-Japanese Executive Faces Prison Term: Prosecutors are seeking a two-year prison sentence for the 80-year-old former chairman of Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp., who has been implicated in Japan’s biggest post-war political scandal, Kyodo News Service and NHK Television said. Hisashi Shinto is alleged to have accepted 10,000 undervalued, unlisted shares of Recruit Co. in exchange for directing telephone-circuit and computer-services business to Recruit. Prosecutors said Recruit shares rose dramatically, giving Shinto an overnight profit of $147,000.
