GARDEN GROVE : Plan Accepted for Downtown Project

The long-awaited office and commercial project at Garden Grove Boulevard and Euclid Street cleared what may be its final hurdle this week, as the City Council reviewed and accepted the site plan.
Intended to be a centerpiece of downtown development, the 8.5-acre project will include a 5-story office building, seven 1-story office buildings, a restaurant and a 1-story commercial building. The council, acting as the Agency for Community Development, reviewed the plan Monday night.
IDM of Long Beach, which has also built a 5-story office building at the northeast corner of that intersection, is the developer for the 116,000-square-foot project. Construction of the first phase--the office tower and its garage--is expected to begin in February, 1991.
The second phase--including the garden office, retail and restaurant--should break ground in September, 1992, with the entire project completed in 1993.
