McMartin Jury Asks to Hear Testimony Again
- Share via
The jury in the McMartin Pre-School molestation case retrial on Tuesday asked to hear again the testimony of one of the girls who was allegedly sexually abused by Ray Buckey. The jurors made their request as they returned to deliberations after announcing Monday that they were at an impasse on six of the eight molestation counts facing Buckey.
In a note to the judge, the Los Angeles Superior Court jury asked to rehear the testimony of a girl who said that Buckey had molested her when she was 2 to 4 years old. The jury also asked to hear the testimony of the girl’s mother. Three of the eight charges stem from the alleged molestation of the girl.
The seven-woman, five-man panel has reached verdicts on two charges. However, those decisions have been kept sealed while deliberations, in their 12th day Tuesday, continue.
On Monday, Superior Court Judge Stanley Weisberg had offered to give jurors further instructions and have testimony read again if that would help them reach verdicts.
