Explodent Colt Brings $100,000, Top Price at Sale

LEXINGTON, Ky. — A dark bay colt by Explodent out of Tiny Blade brought a top price of $100,000 Thursday at the Fasig-Tipton July Yearling Sale.
The colt, purchased by Jerome Michaelson, was among 78 horses sold.
Total sales were $2,721,500, an average of $34,891 per horse. That compares with the 102 horses sold last year for $3,651,500, or $35,799 per horse.
The second-highest price was $90,000 paid by Horse France for a chestnut colt by Mogambo out of Forever Command.
A chestnut filly by Hold Your Peace out of Raise The Market was purchased by James Bracken for $82,000. Bracken was serving as an agent, but the buyer could not be determined.
