Pete Peterson, general manager of the New York Yankees, said he expects Hank Steinbrenner to take an active role in the team’s baseball affairs, as his father, George Steinbrenner, did.
“If I want to make a move, a trade or player acquisition, or bring a player up from triple A, I’ll talk to Hank and then we’ll make a decision on the direction we want to go,” said Peterson, who runs the team’s front office along with George Bradley, the vice president of player personnel.
