Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies and federal agents were searching for a man who robbed a bank in Palmdale just after it opened Thursday morning, authorities said.
The robber, described as a long-haired man 20 to 25 years old who was wearing a green shirt, told a teller at the California Republic Bank on Division Street that he had a gun under a newspaper he was carrying, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Gunars Heine. The man ordered the teller to fill a blue pillowcase with cash and escaped in a red pickup truck, authorities said.
Heine did not specify the amount of money stolen but said it was less than $5,000.
