Justice Brennan, Judge Souter and Supreme Court
- Share via
The heading of Samuel Pillsbury’s “We’ve Lost a Political Leader--in the Best Sense” (Commentary, July 24) inadvertently stumbled into the truth about Brennan.
Brennan used his court seat for activist crusades totally outside of the constitutional role of the Supreme Court. He usurped the authority of the Congress and the people by making law instead of interpreting its constitutionality. A politician is exactly what he was, not a balanced judge of the law.
