Image Entertainment Has 1st-Quarter Earnings

Image Entertainment Inc. in Chatsworth, a laser video disk distributor, said it earned $111,860 in its fiscal first quarter ended June 30, compared to a net loss of $94,624 in the year-earlier quarter. Revenue more than doubled to $10.2 million from $4.69 million.
The company attributed the improved performance to additional licensing of films for laser disk sales and to growth in the overall laser disk market.
