One incumbent and two challengers are in the running for the board of the South Bay Hospital District, a foundation that provides money for public health programs in Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach. Voters in the three cities will elect two board members on Nov. 6.
Ken Johnson, who was appointed to the five-member board a year ago, is seeking a full four-year term. Other candidates are Patricia Allen Dreizler, who retired last year as Redondo Beach community resources director, and Dick Fruin, an attorney who served on the hospital board from 1980 through 1984.
Incumbent Jean G. McMillan, a board member for 10 years, did not file for reelection. Filing closed Wednesday.
