Chester Ferrell Salisbury, 72, one of the first major real estate businessmen on Balboa Island. Salisbury introduced the posh Orange County island’s red electric golf carts to help reduce traffic, parking and pollution problems. The first carts were the company cars of his firm, Salisbury Realty, which he operated from 1955 to 1980. Salisbury retired to Sun River Farm in the Santa Inez Valley near Solvang, where he raised cattle and horses. On Aug. 7 near Solvang.
