NISEI WEEK IN LITTLE TOKYO

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Nisei Week, a festival to honor the cultural heritage of the Nisei, who are second-generation Japanese-Americans. One of the highlights of the celebration will be a parade Sunday through Little Tokyo featuring dancing, music and 37 marching samurai warriors. It will be attended by Princess Sayako of Japan. Events, many of them free, will continue through Aug. 26. Here is a sampling:
