A 46-year-old San Pedro man was shot to death in his bed early Friday morning by an unknown assailant, according to Los Angeles police.
Homicide Lt. Larry Hinrichs said the victim, Mohammed Mahran, was found dead by his family about 7:10 a.m., moments after they awoke to gunfire in the home in the 22300 block of South Harvard Avenue.
Hinrichs said family members told police that they heard footsteps in the house just after the shooting but saw no intruder. They told police that the front door was open after the shooting.
No motive for the killing has been established, Hinrichs said.
