Six people attending a birthday party suffered minor gunshot wounds Saturday night in a drive-by shooting that apparently sprang from gang hostilities.
Anaheim police said shots were fired into a crowd of party-goers at 3053 E. Miraloma Ave. shortly before midnight.
Three cars containing about 12 people drove by the party, and the occupants started shouting gang slogans indicating that they were members of the La Jolla gang in Placentia, Police Lt. John Haradon said. Several party-goers retaliated by throwing beer bottles at the vehicles. An unknown number of people in the cars then opened fire.
Police have no suspects. None of the victims was seriously hurt, with most suffering gunshot wounds in the legs, Haradon said. They were treated at area hospitals and released.
The victims were identified as Elizabeth Preciado, 14, Porfrio Ochoa, 21, Hector Viramontes, 17, and Cesar Licea, 16, all of Anaheim; and Luis Dorado, 16, of Santa Ana, and Armando Moreno, 18, of Placentia.
