Mayor Don E. Smith has appointed Planning Commissioner Randy Bosch to a one-year term as an advisory member of the East Orange Steering Committee.
The committee will oversee the development of 1,490 acres of East Orange, the first phase of a mammoth 7,110-acre Irvine Co. plan that is expected to increase the population of the city by a third.
Bosch, who advocates reducing density in Orange, joins fellow commissioner Don Scott, who was appointed to the committee in June, and Council members Joanne Coontz and Gene Beyer.
