Mayor Meets INS Officials on Faster Service at LAX

Mayor Tom Bradley said on Thursday that he had an “extremely successful” session with officials of the Immigration and Naturalization Service during a one-day trip to Washington to lobby for improved inspections at Los Angeles International Airport.
After meeting with Bradley Thursday morning, INS officials pledged to send a team of staff members to Los Angeles to address problems at the airport, the mayor said in a statement.
“Frequent delays of up to two hours have been reported for arriving passengers waiting for the INS to check their documents at LAX’s three international terminals,” the statement said.
