Documentary Photography Awards: The winner of the first Mother Jones Documentary Photography Award was announced Sunday in San Francisco. Eniac Martinez of Mexico City, who chronicled the effects of the northern migration of the Mixteca peoples of western Oaxaca, was awarded $10,000. Cuban photographer Pablo Cabado and American photographer Nan Goldin each won $3,000 grants. The award--funded by the International Fund for Documentary Photography, a project of Mother Jones magazine--was established last year to support in-depth photo documentary projects concerning social issues.
