Canoga Park Man Dies in Chatsworth Crash

A semitrailer truck loaded with crushed rock struck an auto in Chatsworth Monday, killing a 29-year-old Canoga Park man, Los Angeles police said.
Giau Nguyen was driving north on De Soto Avenue about 8:15 a.m. when he began to turn left onto Roscoe Boulevard, in front of the southbound truck, Officer Brett Peters said. The truck, driven by 38-year-old Richard Taylor of Los Angeles, broadsided Nguyen’s car and pushed it to the southwest corner of the intersection, Peters said.
Nguyen was taken to Nu-Med Regional Medical Center with head and internal injuries. He was pronounced dead at 9:33 a.m. Taylor was not injured.
