Hazardous Waste Disposal Scheduled

A countywide Household Hazardous Waste Roundup will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at Hollywood Park, 1050 Prairie Ave., Inglewood. The roundup provides an opportunity for disposal of waste materials that are not allowed in trash bins.
Such items include motor oil, kitchen cleaners, insect repellents, paint and paint thinner. Other acceptable products are scouring cleanser, aerosols, drain opener, oven, window and toilet bowl cleaners, batteries, pool chemicals, herbicides, and chemical fertilizer.
Waste materials should not exceed five gallons per vehicle. They should be left in the original labeled containers. In addition, the products should be carried in a sturdy box and not mixed together. No explosives, ammunition or radioactive materials will be accepted.
